TREE FELLING

Tree felling is a technique used by arborists to cut down a tree. A tree can be cut down to the stump or taken out completely. We carry out a risk assessment and also assess the tree’s health and advise you on the best way forward. Our team will also offer a full removal service ensuring the area is left tidy.

HEDGE CUTTING

Hedges are a great way to landscape any garden; providing privacy and beauty. Hedges need constant work and care to ensure they look their best all year round. With modern hedge cutting equipment we can handle all types of hedges. We have have ladder equipment to reach the height of any hedge safely and effectively.

PRUNING / THINNING

The pruning & thinning of trees such as Willow and Lime restricts and manages their size and encourages the growth of young stems. Pruning is more effective on young trees as their wood responds rapidly, reducing the risk of decay & disease. This technique should be carried out on dormant trees.

CROWN REDUCTION / LIFT

Reduction is where you bring an overall shape to the crown of the tree. Crown reduction is one of the common techniques used today in pruning trees. This is where you cut the foliage from the outer edge into the crown, reducing the overall shape and size of the tree. When doing this type of reduction, ideally all cuts should be made to a bud or as close as you can to a partnering limb.

Crown Lifting is the skilled technique of increasing the clear space below the foliage of a tree. This is often required in urban areas where the space under a tree is used for access i.e. pedestrians or vehicles need to pass under a tree safely or the space is used for parking etc. Crown Lifting involves the removal of the lower branches and the trimming of other remaining branch foliage to reduce their weight and allow them to lift up naturally. This can be done to achieve any required height clearance.

STUMP GRINDING

Once a tree or large shrub has been felled we can also remove stump by grinding it. Stump grinding is a fast and effective way of removing the remaining stump below ground level to a depth of 100mm/200mm.

We remain on standby throughout the year to enable us to respond quickly in our fully equipped emergency call out response vehicles. We liaise directly with the emergency services and Highways Agency as needed and have extensive experience in this role.
